The Role:

We have recently enhanced our Trustee Board membership and now want to continue expanding the breadth of skills and experience as existing members come to the end of their tenure.  As a result, we are seeking three dynamic, energetic, Trustees, who have a passion for supporting Sidmouth Hospiscare and with the ability to guide and challenge the strategic direction of the Charity in order to take it to the next stage of its development.

Your role of Trustee will be driven by your experience ideally at a senior level in either the private or public sector and how it can best be utilised to shape the direction and implementation of the Sidmouth Hospiscare plan. Previous experience in the charitable sector is not essential but would be desirable.

Your role will be to provide expert advice and guidance, to the CEO and the team at Sidmouth Hospiscare, to shape and challenge the strategic direction of the organisation. Coupled with this we would like to use your experience of existing networks to connect the Charity to funding and promotional opportunities locally.

As an ambassador for Sidmouth Hospiscare, you will also take pride in promoting us to relevant stakeholders, in your existing network, in order to attract interest and support for the benefit of our local community and our stakeholders.

The Person:

As a person, you are energetic and passionate about promoting care in our community and can effectively combine this with your experience of leading organisations to constructively challenge and support the strategic direction of the Charity.

You have the vision, independence of judgement and commitment to help Sidmouth Hospiscare thrive in the years to come, combined with the ability to judge which decisions are yours to take.

Ideally, candidates will have, already, Board level experience and certainly senior management experience in either the public or private sector and will have demonstrated one of the following:

·         Your ability to interpret and develop strategic plans, financial accounts and management information and contribute to key decisions to drive the charity’s performance.

·         Your ability to promote and market an organisation so that we are able to raise our profile and expand awareness of our range of care

·         Your experience and knowledge of healthcare in the UK ideally as a medical practitioner. An understanding of the demands of palliative care would also be of great benefit.

You will have a network of relevant contacts either in the South West or in sectors of interest to the Trustee Board.  Most important to the Trustee Board’s development is both exceptional commercial aptitude and a passion for enhancing our local community’s level of care.

If you possess the experience, passion and attitude to make this role a success then we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV with cover letter to Andrea Allen at by 29th June 2018 or for further details you can contact us via the same email address or by phone on 01395 578707
